Set on the edge of a picturesque village called Ymons perched high above the Dordogne valley. The house is a traditional small farmhouse constructed of stone with an attractive correzian stone tiled roof. There are three ensuite bathrooms, lounge/kitchen/dining area., large cellar and a small outhouse adjoining, large garden and field below. The living accommodation has been extensively renovated whilst retaining its original character. The living room has a huge fireplace with room to sit inside fitted with a wood burner, dining area leading to a fitted kitchen, with cooker, hob, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and is stocked with a comprehensive range of crockery , utensils and cutlery. The double doors lead on to a south facing balcony complete with patio furniture and barbecue. Steps lead down into the garden. There is ample car parking space to the front and the side of the house. |

Bedroom 1 is on the ground floor with bathroom ensuite. Upstairs there is bedroom 2 with ensuite shower room and bedroom 3 with bathroom ensuite. |

The area is totally unspoiled and is fortunate in having such natural beauty combined with unique stone houses, churches and chateaux. The wild life is quite exciting due to the ideal habitat, there are lots of birds and butterflies and osprey on the lake. As many as 20 red kites have been seen flying in the sky above the house at one time. At night there are barn owls close by and night jars and nightingales can be heard singing in the lime trees on the village green. The area is ideal for walking and cycling, there are bicycles in the cellar for guests' use. There are plenty of opportunities for swimming with the lake close by and local outdoor swimming pools. Other local activities include canoeing, windsurfing, horse riding, fishing and in season skiing. The area set in the Massive Central is unique for its architectural beauty with buildings and castles set in some of the most beautiful scenery in France. The Lascaux caves, Rocamadour, Tours de Merle, Cantal Mountains, Collonges La Rouge and other sights are within easy reach and well worth a visit. There are numerous good restaurants in the area and excellent shopping facilities in Argentat, Tulle, Brive, Aurillac, St Privat where weekly and twice weekly markets are held |

How Do I get there? |

We are approx. 1 1/2 hrs drive from Limoges & Rodez airports. Bergerac approx. 2hrs & Toulouse approx. 2 1/2 hrs. The driving distance from Le Havre port is approx. 405 miles, Dieppe approx. 400 miles & Calais approx. 475 miles. There is also the Motor Rail to Brive & from Brive we are approx. 1hr drive.main route through from Orleans to Toulouse). |
