This Gite is situated in the Haute-Vienne, in the heart of the truly picturesque countryside of the Limousin, within 10 km of the A20. The village of Folles is only 2 minutes drive and has a bakery, small grocery shop, bar/restaurant and Post Office. There is a beached lake only 10 minutes drive (5km) with pedaloes, child's play area, mini golf and a cafe.
The well equipped gite has double glazing and electric heating so is suitable for off season lets or house hunting in this beautiful countryside. The accommodation is all on one level, one bedroom with double bed, living room with sofa, T.V. and video and kitchen corner with cooker, fridge, washing machine and microwave. There is a bathroom with shower and a separate toilet. The garden is equipped for life outdoors, including B.B.Q.

Limoges is only 30 minutes away making this an ideal base for the many places of cultural and historical interest. |

There are an abundance of lakes and rivers for the fisherman amongst you and for those that are into watersports, Lake Pardoux is an 800 acre complex that offers swimming, water skiing, canoeing and sailing or you can just sunbathe on one of the man made beaches. Hiring and catering facilities are available during July and August. |

There are churches and monasteries, chateaux and abbeys, parcs and forests and quaint old villages with their cobbled streets to explore and we have the lovely towns of La Souterraine, Le Dorat, St. Junien, Bellac, Confolens, Poitiers and Limoges all within an easy drive. Lastly there is the wonderful food and wine to discover. There are numerous restaurants catering for every taste all within a short distance away.

How Do I get there? |
|
The location of the Gite is 10km (10 mins) drive from the A20 (which is part of the main route through from Orleans to Toulouse). The ports of Le Havre and Calais are between 5 and 7 hours away, Limoges airports is about 30 minutes away and there is an excellent rail service from Waterloo to Poitiers via Lille or Paris.
