The history of the Correze, profoundly marked by the wars of the middle ages, can still be seen in the regions landscape, with its many fortified castles. Ventadour, Turenne, Segur-le-Chatuau, Comborn and Merle are just some of the historical towns which bear witness to its turbulent history.

Visits and entertainment are organised throughout the year in a number of historical sites, where troubadours of past and present will delight you with their performances.

Breathe deeply and enjoy nature’s beauty. Way marked paths lead you on magnificent hikes through meadows and forests or shorter trails that can be walked in a day. On foot, by mountain bike or on horse back – it’s up to you to choose how you follow the paths. This region is also a paradise for fishermen, who fish for trout in it’s myriad crystal clear rivers.

How could you miss the typical village markets of the Correze with their abundance of local produce? Their flavours, colourful stalls and enticing smells will provide you with unforgettable memories. You could enjoy the Lac de Bournazel or the Etang de Ruffaud, where you can choose from a range of water activities.

POMPADOUR whose castle gave its name to Madame de Pompadour, mistress of Louis XV, and which now houses the National Stud, and follow in the footsteps of illustrious former hosts such as Louis XV, and Napoleon I. Arabian racehorses are bred here with the care and attention worthy of this magnificent breed.

Jasmine Cottage is a self contained wing of a fabulous 300 year old Manor House with 10 acres of grounds in the hamlet of Le Mayne In the Correze, the region with the Lot Valley on the East and the Dordogne in the North. It has nice undulating countryside on the foothills of the Massif Central and at the start of the Dordogne river with lots of gorges, lovely walking, horse riding, fishing and lots of lakes, some with man made beaches.

St Clement is the main village, and we live in one of the satellite villages. All in all there are about 600 people in the community. Every village in France gets a grant from the Government to keep the little shops open, and at St. Clement we have a bakery, a small shop and of course the pub. If you do not wish to venture out the baker comes to the house twice a week

Brive is only 18km away and is a really cosmopolitan town with wine bars, cafes, beautiful shops and theatres.

The cottage has a spacious well equipped kitchen/dining area, living area which has a bed settee (with proper mattress) and upstairs a Master bedroom and bathroom, all furnished to a very high standard.

All linen except outside towels are provided.

There is a private secluded garden and terrace with BBQ and a large swimming pool with terrace.

How Do I get there?

The location of Jasmine Cottage is 15km (15 mins) drive from the A20 (which is part of the
main route through from Orleans to Toulouse).
You will need to exit at Junction 45 heading for Seilhac.

By air there are now direct flights from Stansted Airport, London to Limoges, being operated by Ryanairlines and there is car hire available at the airport; (Limoges is between 45 mins to an hour away by car).Jasmine Cottage1515
