If you fancy a short break in the Correze, you’re planning a tour around France, a househunting trip, or just want a long weekend to get away from it all – we have just the place for you!
 
Set in a tiny hamlet of less than ten houses, high in the hills and surrounded by forest, you’ll find The Old Granary. Newly renovated, this lovely old stone building is situated behind L’Ancien Fournil, which used to be the hamlet’s communal bread oven, but which is now our home.

 
The Old Granary is completely self-contained and has an open-plan design. The pine-furnished double bedroom is on an open mezzanine to the rear and overlooks the lounge/dining room, in which you’ll find a settee (which opens out to an additional bed for one, if required), a dining table and kitchenette. Kitchen facilities include a sink, fridge, two gas rings and a mini oven. A small cloakroom at the rear leads into a bathroom fitted with shower, wc and hand basin.

 
The stone terrace has patio furniture and a barbecue for your use during the summer months.
 
Chamberet is the nearest town with facilities, such as a supermarket, shops, restaurants and bars and this is approximately 6km (4miles) down the valley. Treignac is approximately 10km away. Through the hamlet itself, there are walking and mountain bike trails and there is an equestrian centre only 1km (less than a mile) away. You are also well placed for visiting the lake at Treignac and all the other sights in the Correze.
 

 

 
A continental breakfast is available for £5 per person and is provided in the gite the evening before, so that you can eat at your leisure without there being set times.
 
A selection of drinks and snacks will be put in the gite for your consumption and are paid for on a 'mini bar' basis.

 

 

 

 

 

 
You would also be welcome to make use of our private splash pool during the summer months, but please be aware that this would be at your own risk as the pool is unsupervised.


How Do I get there?  

The location of the Gite is 30 minutes drive from the A20 (which is part of the
main route through from Orleans to Toulouse).
You will need to exit at Junction 43 heading for Treignac.

By air there are now direct flights from Stansted Airport, London to Limoges, being operated by Ryanairlines and there is car hire available at the airport; (Limoges is between 45 mins away by car).Gite is 30 minutes 3Treignac
