Villevaleix is ideally situated in a rural and picturesque part of Limousin and provides you with an opportunity to enjoy an uninterrupted holiday hideaway in a small hamlet, albeit only an 8 minute drive from the nearest village, Cheniers. Here you will find a small grocery, butcher and boulangerie, plus a couple of friendly bars one of which serves food. A 15 minute drive to Bonnat in the opposite direction offers you a larger supermarket, 2 boulangerie’s, garden centre, banks, garage, post office, vets and doctor, small local disco plus the usual selection of bars. Most days one of the local villages or towns have a traditional French market.

The house is within the area of the ‘Three Lakes’ (Pays de 3 Lacs), which is a series of lakes and beaches created from 3 dams, which were built across the River Creuse – the river the region is named after. They are excellent for swimming, fishing and other water sports. There are also play areas and restaurants. Lifeguards operate in season. There is a wealth of wildlife for nature enthusiasts and opportunity to explore on foot or by bike. At nearby
Locally there are many tourist attractions. Limoges and Gueret are the nearest cities offering traditional attractions to visit plus shops, markets and fine restaurants.

Accommodation
The ground floor is an open plan design with lounge sitting area and an American style kitchen. The floor is fully tiled. The kitchen is equipped with gas hob, microwave oven, washing machine and large fridge freezer. The lounge / dining area is spacious with a wood-burning stove. There is a TV with video and DVD player. There are also books and games available. Off the lounge there is a shower room and separate WC.
Stairs lead to the first floor where there are four good-sized bedrooms and an additional shower room and WC. Two bedrooms have a double bed and two have bunks. The master bedroom has a balcony the width of the house - a lovely place at night to view the magnificent star strewn sky.

Outside there are approx five acres of land including a small coppice wood. We have seen deer in the garden and birds of prey flying overhead. Opposite the front door is a large swimming pool, which is fully enclosed and has decking and tiled areas for relaxing and sunbathing. For eating outdoors a BBQ is available. The nearest neighbours are friendly farmers at the end of our single-track road. . In the area there are lots of chateaux, ancient churches and of course the regular street brocantes which go on all summer. There are always plenty of things to do - just look in the Tourist Office. |

The location of the house is approx 50km (50 mins) drive from the A20 (which is part of the main route through from Orleans to Toulouse). |
