Farmhouse Gites with Shared Pool

Our cottage is situated in open countryside with wonderful views – yet only 5 minutes drive away from the country town of Fursac which has shops, bars and restaurants including the Hotel Nougier which is famous for its ‘bonne table’ (delicious food)

The lively and historic market town of La Souterraine is only 15 minutes drive away. Some parts of the medieval ramparts, including the massive portal known as the Porte St Jean’, still stand.

The Creuse – meaning ‘the hollow’ the Creuse is one of the least inhabited departments of France. If you are looking for peaceful, unspoilt countryside, dramatic landscapes, breathtaking views…and water, water everywhere, you will find it in the Creuse. The unpolluted rivers, still jumping with ‘fario’ trout, roach, carp and pike have long made it a favourite with anglers.

Lounge diner, with tiled floor, exposed beams, breakfast bar, bed settee, comfortable armchairs and stunning panoramic views over open countryside.

Kitchen, with tiled floor, sink, work surfaces, cupboards, hot & cold water, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine.

Bathroom, comprising toilet, hand basin and mains fed shower.

First Floor.

Toilet adjacent to both bedrooms.

Bedroom 1, has wooden floor and exposed timbers, double bed, bedside cabinets and wardrobe and views over open countryside.

Bedroom 2, has wooden floor, exposed timbers, two single beds, bedside cabinets and wardrobe

Third Floor.

Bedroom 3, has wooden floor, exposed timbers, two single beds and bedside cabinets.

Swimming pool: 10 metre x 5 metre approximately and 2 metre deep at its deepest point. Set in a secluded area that is not over looked with beautiful views across open countryside and a barbeque to the side of the pool.

There are external tables and chairs and benches around the gardens, which are open to guests.

A baker calls at the hamlet 2 days a week where you can buy traditional French bread.

How Do I get there?

The location of " Grapevine" is approx 15 mins drive from the A20 (which is the main route through from Paris to Toulouse).
You will need to exit at Junction 23 in the direction of La Souterraine.
By air there are now direct flights from Stansted Airport, London to Poitiers and also to Limoges, being operated by Ryanairlines
and there is car hire available at the airport. Poitiers is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes drive away, and Limoges which is 1 hours drive.
