The gite is situated on the edge of Lac de Bariousses at Treignac, set in grounds with private beach shared with other gites on the small private complex. It is just outside the Medieval City of Treignac, in the beautiful Monedieres in the Correze, in the heart of the truly picturesque countryside of the Limousin and only 30 minutes from Junction 43 of the A20 Orleans to Toulouse motorway.

The Gite is ideally situated for Treignac and Chamberet, with both having all necessary amenities like restaurants, bars, banks, bakers and an English speaking Estate Agent (in Treignac)

The Correze is a region of Art and History, with 6 villages listed among “The most beautiful Villages in France” Chateaux with prestigious names such as Pompador and Turenne, Abbeys and Romanesque churches at Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne and Uzerche and Prehistoric and Roman remains, not to mention the warm hospitality of the regions many family-owned inns, and their many festivals based on the local production of strawberries, plums, walnuts, apples, chestnuts and mushrooms.

It is an area of natural beauty, a paradise for lovers of outdoor leisure with the Dordogne Valley, The plateau of Millevaches, The Waterfalls at Gimel and The Gorges of the river Vezere.

Of course a visit to Limoges is essential. The capital of the Limousin region and famous
for its fine and unique porcelain and enamel.

Water sport enthusiasts will find all they need with canoes and sail boards included in the hire of this property together with bicycles for those wishing to tour the area and loungers for those wishing to relax by the lake. Only 5 minutes from the Gite is the Hotel du Lac which does splendid 3 course meals from 10 euros, and of course Lac de Vassiviere, only 40 minutes - to utilise their energy, walking, hiking or cycling, or just relaxing.

The Gite has been newly renovated and offers accommodation for up to 6 persons on holiday or just visiting the area house-hunting perhaps, and has gas heating for all year letting.

The accommodation is self-contained on the first floor and consists of a large lounge area with ample seating, television and dining area and well equipped kitchen with gas cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, a washing machine and a dishwasher.

There are 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedoom, a shower room with large shower and a separate toilet.

How Do I get there?

The location of the Gite is 30 minutes drive from the A20 (which is part of the
main route through from Orleans to Toulouse).
You will need to exit at Junction 43 heading for Treignac.

By air there are now direct flights from Stansted and Liverpool to Limoges, being operated by Ryanairlines and Southampton to Limoges being operated by Flybe, and there is car hire available at the airport; (Limoges is approx 45 mins away by car).
