Tastefully renovated retaining original features, and furnished with traditional regional chestnut furniture. Small sitting room with comfortable seating. Living/dining room with table and 6 chairs, TV. Large kitchen with microwave, dishwasher and breakfast table and 4 chairs. Utility room with washing machine, freezer. Two stairways lead to 1st floor rooms. Bed 1: double room. Bed 2: adult size bunk beds. Two shower/WC's. Bed 3: 2 singles, Bed 4: double bed.  

Situated in the Parc Natural Perigord/Limousin, equal distance to Limoges and Perigueux it is ideal to keep all the family happy & occupied. Surrounded by historic & prehistoric sites, with the infamous town of Chalus, where Richard the Lionheart met his death only 10 minutes drive and the rest of the “Route Richard Coeur de Lion” with it’s multitude of famous chateaux dotted along the quiet country lanes of this relatively undiscovered area of France. Just 30 minutes drive takes you to Brantome, known locally as the “Venice of the Dordogne”, where all ages can mess about on the river be it kayaking, canoeing, fishing, boating or just enjoying a sumptuous meal in one of the excellent riverside restaurants, or maybe a wander around the Friday market followed by a café au lait! A few minutes drive from Brantome takes you to the Grottes de Villars and their famous prehistoric cave paintings, another must do.

There is a General Store with bakery, and also a bar within 2 kms (20 mins walk) of the property.

Of course a visit to Limoges, the capital of the Limousin, famous for its porcelain and enamel is essential. A very popular tourist attraction is Oradour sur Glane a village that was destroyed by the Germans in 1944 but has been left as a memorial to those that were massacred. Well worth a visit, but take a hankie. 

Watersport enthusiasts will find all they need in the well-equipped beached lakes to utilise their energy, or just relax.  Many lakes being ideal locations for fishing as are the lovely rivers in the area. 

How Do I get there? 

The location of the house is approximately 30 minutes drive from the A20 (which is  the main route through from Paris to Toulouse) you will need to exit at Junction 40.  By air 30 minutes drive from Limoges airport (direct flights from Stanstead with Ryanair).
and there is car hire available at the airport.
