This renovated detached house with terraced garde overlooks the golf course on the outskirts of the 12th Century medieval town of Bourganeuf.

The house offers easy access to all that Bourganeuf has to offer.  Just a 2 minute walk takes you to a quality restaurant.  Only 10 minutes on foot takes you into the centre of this vibrant small town and here you will find a range of cafe/bars and restaurants offering good value lunches and dinners.  Also here youhave access to local bakers, butcher, medical services, cinema, etc and a lively market on Wednesday mornings.

A larger supermarket is located just 3 minutes away by car and a wealth of restaurants in the wider area is just waiting to be explored.  You may need a reservation for evening dining but tables at lunch time are usually available and offer excellent value for money.  More details of our own favourites can be found in the information folder in the sitting room.

Other local attractions include the vast Lac de Vassiviere with its wide range of watersports: cycling, walking (a GR can be accessed at the bottom of the garden!) and bridle paths in abundance, as well as a variety of sightseeing experiences - try your luck in teh Labrynth or see the wolves on the outskirts of Gueret, visit the porcelain factories in Limoges or go further afield to the mountains of the Auvergne or the famouse gorges of the Dordogne.  Truly the choices are endless. 


 

The ground floor of the house, which benefits from oil-fired central heating, is cool and airy.  It comprises of a modern, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, spacious sitting room with free-to-air TV and DVD/VCR, double bedroom, bath/shower room finished to a very high standard and separate WC with washbasin.


                                                         

 

 

From the ground floor, stairs lead up to two attic rooms with coomed ceilings, offering a twin bedroom and a lounge area with sofa bed.

A flight of stairs down from the ground floor leads to the cellar area where the usual laundry facilities of washing machine, tumble drier, etc are available.  It also houses a summer kitchen and gives access to a large furnished balcony with gas BBQ.   This offers pleasant shade from the midday sun whilst being an ideal spot to catch the coller late afternoon/evening sun.  The lower terrace with garden furniture enjoys sun all day long.  Steps from there lead down to a public footpath and the local 9-hole golf course. 

 

 

 

 

How Do I get there?


The location of the house is 40km (45 mins) drive from the A20 (which is part of the main route through from Orleans to Toulouse).
You will need to exit at Junction 23.1 heading for Grand Bourg in the direction of Bourganeuf.

By air there are now direct flights from Stansted Airport, London to Poitiers and also to Limoges, being operated by Ryanairlines and there is car hire available at the airport.   Limoges is approx 45 minutes away.

Please note that as access to and within the house involves several steps, this house is not suitable for very young children or people with mobility problems.  We would also ask that guests adhere strictly to our policy of no smoking in the house.
