The Area Limousin is the lushest holiday destination you could imagine – a land full of trees, water and pure, clean air. It is almost entirely covered by a thick carpet of vegetation mixed up with a large number of rivers and lakes. The whole region holds out an open invitation to peaceful exploration of its natural attractions: the Millevaches plateau, the Vassivière lake with its many beaches, and the Dordogne, Vézère and Vienne valleys… Its châteaux and medieval villages, Collonges-la-Rouge, Curemonte or Mortemart, and the little Norman churches are just part of the rich historic and cultural heritage. Being a relatively undiscovered region of France, Limousin is not overcrowded. Its picturesque surroundings make it a joy to visit. Whether exploring the area by car or on foot there is much to inspire and warrant your interest. The pace of life is generally slow and relaxing and the 2 hour lunch is still very popular. There are many activities, including horse riding, fishing, boating, canoeing and the most beautiful forest walks. Nearby attractions include :-
