Loutre is a small hamlet and takes its name from the river Loutre which winds it’s way through the picturesque valley, where there is an abundance of wildlife. A perfect place for those seeking a peaceful relaxing holiday, away from all the stress of a busy life. Approximately 30 mins south west of Limoges .The nearest town of Cussac has a large supermarket which is open on Sunday mornings and the nearest Bar /Restaurant which is situated opposite the Chateau de Brie, a fortified castle built around 1500 in Gothic "flamboyant " style is only 10 mins walk away from the house.
La Grange has been tastefully renovated to a very high standard, and would be ideal for the larger family or two families wishing to share. The accommodation consists of an open hall on the ground floor off which leads 1 double bedroom, 1 twin bedded room and a children’s room with 2 sets of bunk beds. (A cot is available if required) A spacious bathroom consisting of bath with shower over, wash - hand basin & toilet. There is a door leading to a utility room with washing machine etc. From the open hall the stairs lead to the first floor where there is another double bedroom with on-suite shower, wash hand basin and separate toilet. This on-suite has two entry doors, one from the bedroom, which can be locked off, and another from the lounge area, allowing it to be used separately. There is a spacious lounge with T.V., which has free to air channels, English, French or German & DVD player also a selection of videos. A wide selection of books. The dining area has an open plan kitchen with electric oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer & plenty of crockery & utensils to cater for larger families. |

The kitchen has French doors opening onto a spacious covered terraced area, with a dining table that can be extended to seat 10 people for outdoor meals. In the summer months it becomes a welcome extension of the accommodation for relaxing outdoors There is a large barbeque |

From the terrace there are steps down to the heated swimming pool which has a paved area equipped with sun lounge’s also a decked area with table & chairs for early evening aperitifs & late night star gazing. |

Loutre is within easy distance to regional markets, restaurants & local village fetes, where the unchanged traditional French rural life still exists. One of the oldest & largest street markets in France is at Piegut-Pluviers every Wednesday morning a must for market lovers, easy parking, go early to miss the crowds. ( 20mins drive) The city of Limoges, internationally renowned for it’s porcelain is within 40 mins drive. A good day city site seeing or shopping with easy parking. Situated in the Natural Regional Park Perigord / Limousin an area of unspoilt natural beauty, ideal for outdoor leisure activities, horse riding, cycling, fishing and walking. For those interested in water sports nearby Brantome provides the perfect setting for canoeing on the river Dronne which runs through the town, with many riverside restaurants. (Market day Friday morning) There are many lakes nearby such as ‘Le Grand Lac St Mathieu’ for swimming, fishing, pedal boats & small sail boats for hire. For enthusiastic walkers marked routes can be found ranging from 4 to 40 kms. The lake at Bussiere Galant hosts the Velo rail, a small pedalled vehicle which runs on the old single track railway line. Also there is an adventure park very popular with all ages.Local Amenities Nearest Boulangerie, small grocery shop, bar/restaurant post office in nearby Champagnac La Riviere.
