The Accommodation
Front entry into the house opens into a large traditional lounge featuring original oak beams, stone floor and open fireplace with cosy sofa & coffee table. The lounge extends into an open-plan dining area with a traditional wood burner and large oak farmhouse dining table comfortably seating 8. The back door is through the dining area and leads out into the large garden. Situated off the lounge is a large, fully equipped farmhouse kitchen featuring original stone flooring, Kitchen island, small antique oak dining table & chairs and all modern conveniences including double oven with ceramic hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher.
Also situated downstairs is a separate WC with hand wash basin and a large family sized bathroom with bath and separate shower enclosure, twin washbasins, a heated towel rail and vanity mirror.
The original oak staircase leads upstairs to a bright and spacious mezzanine living area featuring solid oak flooring, large futon sofa, coffee table, TV/DVD player, and wonderful views of the surrounding rolling countryside.
Three spacious bedrooms all with solid oak floors are located off the mezzanine, two featuring king size beds and one with 3 single beds, all with good quality luxury mattresses ensuring a wonderful sleep.

The Garden
La Maison De La Petite Creuse is set in 2 acres of meadows and woodland with a large well established garden. Outside there is a stone patio area featuring wooden garden furniture seating 4-8, large parasol, and 2 wooden sun loungers with comfy cushions. There is also BBQ equipment and an additional 6 seater wooden garden picnic bench. If you visit during late summer/autumn you are very welcome to help yourselves to the sweet grapes and also apples from the apple tree that grows just at the top of the garden.

There is plenty of opportunity for outdoor dining with the beautiful views & intense sunsets, and lots of room for sitting or lounging in the sun or under one of the shady trees having a picnic. This private spot is perfect for nature lovers who want to get away from the hectic pace of life, and to really feel you have gone back in time. The Surrounding Area
La Creuse & NE Just 10-20 minutes drive from la maison you will discover some beautiful lakes, rivers and traditional towns and villages offering a wide selection of fine patisseries, boulangeries, weekly local produce markets, supermarkets and other conveniences. Your closest traditional patisserie and café/bar offering good value lunches are both just a 5 minute drive (2 miles) into the pretty local village of Fresselines which is famed for its many local art exhibitions. The closest town with all conveniences including 2 supermarkets is Dun le Palestel just a 15 minute drive away. A choice of 2 large swimming lakes with beaches and lakeside cafés/bars (lac bourg d’hem & lac Chambon) are both within 20 minutes drive.
There are some lovely local restaurants, one of the nicest being Hotel du lac situated overlooking the dramatic gorge in the famous historical town of Crozant which is famed for Monet’s impressionism, just 15mins drive, perfect to sit out on the balcony enjoying the stunning views on a warm summer’s evening.
Other activities on offer include many local scenic walking trails through woodland and alongside beautiful rivers, tennis courts, cycle hire, horse riding and golfing opportunities all available locally.

Getting There
Low cost direct flights to Limoges airport (approx 1 hour drive) are available with either www.ryanair.com or www.flybe.com from the following UK airports – London Stansted (all year), London Luton, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Bristol, Glasgow International, Newcastle, Southampton, Belfast City, Jersey or Guernsey. Car hire is available from hertz, Avis and Europcar just outside the airport.
