Moulin De Mournetas, Nr. Bourganeuf,  Creuse, Limousin 

Mournetas is located within the most picturesque countryside with quiet country lanes, and lots of forest footpaths close by, making it the perfect location for cycling/walking, suitable for all levels and disciplines.  

 A range of bicycles are available for your use free of charge, together with detailed maps. 

 For fishing enthusiasts, there are 2 large lakes 5/10 minutes away and we are able to provide tackle for a simple days fishing free of charge. 

 Approximately 50 minutes away is Lac Vassiviere, one of the largest man-made lakes in Europe , stretching to over 1000 hectares, which caters for all watersports in lovely surroundings.  During the summer months there are boat tours of the lake.

 Chatelus-Le-Marcheix is approximately 3km away and has a lovely 35 hectare lake, surrounded by pine trees, giving it a ‘swiss’ feel.  There is a beach with safe bathing for children and picnic tables within the forest overlooking the lake.  During the summer months there are pedelos for hire and a kiosk providing cold drinks, ices etc. 

   The village has a small shop, hairdressers, tourist office, library (with internet access), pharmacy, post office and Aurberge providing food.   

 The pretty town of Bourgeneuf is approximately 15 minutes away and has all amenities including lots of bars and restaurants.  There is a weekly market selling a large range of local fresh produce including cheeses, meats, breads and delicious seafood.   

 In the town centre there is the lovely 15^th century church of St Jean and the beautiful tower of Zizim.

 For sports enthusiasts, there is a nine hole golf course (the club house has a good restaurant) and tennis courts. 

   The beautiful city of Limoges , famous for its exquisite porcelain and wonderful architecture, is approximately 45 minutes away.  There are many terrace restaurants serving good quality food and fine wine, lots of individualist shops and boutiques where you will find unusual gifts made by local artisans.  

 There is the wonderful Gothic Cathedral of St-Etienne with its beautiful stained glass windows, pretty botanical and herbal gardens with lovely fountains. 

 The municipal museum displays one of the largest collections of world-famous enamels and paintings by Renoir. 

 A stroll through the fascinating ‘butchers quarter’, which dates back to medieval times, brings you to the 17^th Century Chapelle de Aurelien with its stunning ornate statues and artwork. 

 The indoor covered market dates back to 1878 and has a lovely porcelain frieze depicting the foods found within.   

 There are lots of restaurants within a short drive of the apartment catering for all tastes, many of which provide a lovely lunchtime menu of 3 courses for around 10E. 

 There are so many activities available within the area requiring a drive of less than one hour, to name a few:-   Wolf park, aquarium, ice skating, indoor/outdoor karting, distillery, wildlife park, planetarium, 5 golf courses, lots of museums.

How Do I get there? 

If travelling by car we are approximately 40 minutes from the main A20 Orleans to Toulouse motorway.  Speedferries providing low cost channel crossings.

By air there are now direct flights from Stansted Airport, London to Poitiers and  Limoges, and Liverpool to Limoges being operated by Ryanairlines and Southampton to Limoges being operated by Flybe.
There is car hire available at the airport.  Limoges is approx 45 minutes  away.

All linen and towels (including pool towels) are included.

Electricity charges at cost via a meter.

Fuel for woodburning stove supplied free of charge.
